Managed Networking
Network technologies within the business world have grown dramatically in the past decade. And, the complexity of the information technology infrastructure continues to grow as organizations struggle to keep up with increased demand for bandwidth and connectivity.
As a service provider, Smithville Digital has created the Indiana Digital Gateway (IDG) - a Metro Ethernet Network designed to provide solutions to increased technological demands by providing data transport at speeds up to 1Gbps. Implemented with leading edge technology, the IDG also satisfies the following key data networking goals:
Simplicity - Connectivity that is easy for the customer
Flexibility - One installation capable of delivering many services
Scalability - Products expand as the customer's organization grows
Survivability - Minimized service disruptions due to network malfunctions
The Indiana Digital Gateway is a network that bridges or connects geographically separated enterprise LANs while also connecting across the WAN or backbone networks generally owned by service providers, such as Smithville Digital. The IDG provides connectivity services across Metro geography utilizing Ethernet as the core protocol and enabling broadband applications.
Because Ethernet is the most popular corporate networking protocol used, the IDG provides a simple way to extend the reach of the existing network without the concern of converting to another protocol.
